Happy Holidays!
The fall semster is finished and anxious anticipation awaits the coming spring season. In the ABCA preseason coaches national poll, Rock Baseball has been ranked 31st in the country. We're extremely excited as player and coaches to get started January 18th in anticipation of a great season. This will be the first season in a long time the pitching staff is healthly going into the season. The PSAC-West will be as competitive as ever with Cal and Mercyhurst fielding strong teams.
The season will start the weekend of February 19th in Chillicothe, Ohio against St.Joseph's University of Indiana and Tiffin University of Ohio. The four-game slate will be followed the next weekend by three games against cross-state rival Shippensburg University in Aberdeen, Md. (at the Cal Ripken facility).
This year's spring trip, March 3-12 in Lakeland, Fla., is by far the most challenging a Rock team has faced. The 10-game slate includes competition against Tampa, West Chester, Ashland, Minnesota State-Mankato, Mansfield, St. Joseph's, Seton Hill and Assumption, almost all of which earned NCAA Division II regional tournament berths last spring.
Hopefully we will have the opportunity to see many alumni and friends this coming season. Your support as a player, alumnus, or fan over the years has never been taken for granted and is greatly appreciated.
Closing thought: Our prayers and warmest memories go out to former SRU pitching coach and professor Ed Walsh's family and friends.
