SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The 12th ranked Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team closed out a perfect 10-0 divisional record with an 18-11 win over Lock Haven Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

The Rock close the regular season with a 15-1 overall record and a 10-0 mark in PSAC West action, tying the single-season program record for wins and claiming the first division title in program history. SRU earns a bye in the PSAC Playoffs and will meet the winner of the East Division quarterfinal between No. 2 East Stroudsburg and No. 3 Millersville in the PSAC semifinals next Friday, May 2 at West Chester. Lock Haven closes the regular season with a 9-7 overall record and a 6-4 mark in division games. The Bald Eagles will travel to Seton Hill for the PSAC quarterfinals Tuesday with the winner meeting West Chester in the semifinals.

Slippery Rock celebrated the most successful senior class in program history prior to Saturday's game, recognizing a group of seniors that put together four straight seasons with 10 or more wins, two trips to the PSAC Playoffs and the first division title in program history.

Lock Haven scored the opening goal and hung tough with Slippery Rock until the second quarter. The Bald Eagles tied the game for the fourth time at 5-5 with 11:41 to play in the first half, but Slippery Rock responded with a 7-0 run over the next seven minutes to open up a 12-5 lead late in the second quarter. The Rock would lead by five or more goals the rest of the way.

Slippery Rock controlled possession for most of the game and finished with advantages of 44-19 in total shots, 26-6 in draw controls and 21-17 in ground balls. The Rock also caused 14 turnovers and limited Lock Haven to 14-of-21 on clear attempts while going 12-of-14 on their own clears.

Abby Fink paced the attack with six goals and one assist to tie her career-high with seven points. Reagan Richeson added six points with three goals and three assists and Grace Rotter scored five goals to give SRU three players with at least five points in the game.

Leora Owings handed out four assists to go along with a career-high 14 draw controls while also causing three turnovers. Eryn Little added a hat trick with three goals and Krysta Frankowski scored one goal and handed out one assist, which was the 40th assist of her career. Paige Jenkins capped the point scorers with one assist while also leading the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Nicole Masi added four ground balls.

With their scoring efforts in the game, Rotter, Richeson and Fink all reached the 40-goal milestone for the season and the 50-point milestone, becoming just the second trio in program history to record 40 goals in the same season. The only other season in program history with three 40-goal scorers was 2015, when Erin Wilcox (50), Paige Costantino (49) and Kaytlin Callaghan (46) accomplished the feat.

Lily Ventresca was credited with the win in goal after playing the first half and recording one save. She departed with a 12-6 lead with Ava Drath playing the second half and recording three saves while allowing five goals.

Lock Haven was led by Makayla Kelly with seven points on three goals and four assists and Gabby Gunnip with five goals and one assist. Gretchen King took the loss in goal after recording 14 saves.

Slippery Rock will now have just shy of a full week to prepare for the PSAC semifinals next Friday at 4 p.m. at West Chester. The Rock will find out their opponent Tuesday when Millersville faces East Stroudsburg in the PSAC quarterfinals.
