WARRIER FAMILY PARAMESWAR KRISHNAKUMAR SCHOLARSHIP
Slippery Rock is proud to announce the second annual Warrier Family Parameswar Krishnakumar Tennis Scholarship recipients. Presented in honor of Parameswar "KK" Krishnakumar, a former Slippery Rock professor and supporter of women's tennis.

SERIES HISTORY
• Slippery Rock has been wildly successful over program history against all four of this week's opponents with a combined record of 97-20 (.829) all-time against Seton Hill, Edinboro, Clarion and West Chester.
• SRU has won five straight matches against Seton Hill, including back-to-back sweeps, to improve its record against the Griffins to 9-2.
• In a series that can be traced back to 1972, Slippery Rock is 35-6 against Edinboro. SRU has not lost to Edinboro since 2017.
• Not only are The Rock 35-9 all-time against Clarion and on a current 26-match winning streak against the Golden Eagles – they have not yielded a point to Clarion since an 8-1 win in 2016.
• Slippery Rock and West Chester last met in the 2023 PSAC Tournament – a match SRU won 4-0 to improve its record against WCU to 18-3.
LAST TIME OUT
• Slippery Rock suffered a 6-1 setback at No. 38 Charleston on April 7.
• Seton Hill snapped a three-match losing streak courtesy of a 7-0 victory April 7 against Clarion.
• Edinboro fell to West Virginia Wesleyan, 6-1, on March 28 for what was its fourth straight loss. The Fighting Scots have matches against Fairmont State and Mercyhurst scheduled prior to its tilt with The Rock.
• Clarion, which will meet Westminster Tuesday prior to its match against SRU, was shutout by Seton Hill on April 7.
• West Chester will look to avenge a 5-2 loss to the District of Columbia on April 7 with a successful upcoming four-match week with matches against Shippensburg, Salem, Lock Haven and The Rock.

Slippery Rock begins the week at 6-6 overall in 2024. Of its six losses two have come against Division I teams while three others have been versus teams in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
•
Gabriela del Val del Toro enters the week with a healthy 11-7 overall record that includes a 6-5 dual match mark primarily from the second flight.
• Rookie
Nicole Kempton has begun her collegiate career by winning 67 percent of her singles matches (10 of 15). She is 8-4 in dual match competition, having gone 5-2 in the fifth flight and 3-2 out of the fourth slot.

Amaia Balaguer Brau – the No. 59 ranked singles athlete in Division II by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association – anchors The Rock's singles lineup out of the first flight where she is 6-5, helping her overall record to 10-9 in 2024.

Tina Slovak has provided SRU with a near perfect 7-1 record this year. She is 4-0 in sixth-flight contests and 1-1 when playing out of the fifth flight.

Dari Sakhanova heads to Seton Hill at 8-9 overall, 5-6 in dual matches and 5-5 when representing SRU in the third flight.
•
Georgie Lancaster (4-10) rounds out Slippery Rock's standard singles lineup as of late.
• Sakhanova and Slovak have posted three consecutive wins from the No. 3 doubles position to push the duo's record to 5-6.
• Fresh off an impressive victory against Charleston, Kempton and Balaguer Brau provide Slippery Rock with very tough to beat pairing in the first flight. They have won four of six matches and are 6-6 on the year.
• Out of the second flight, Lancaster and del Val del Toro have partnered to go 1-2.
