SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team dropped its last home game of the regular season in a 60-47 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division tilt to Edinboro Wednesday at Morrow Field House.

The Rock fell to 2-22 on the season, having a 2-19 mark inside the conference. The Fighting Scots, who clinched home court advantage in the first round of the PSAC Tournament, improved to 16-10 overall and 14-7 in PSAC competition.

Slippery Rock led early on and trailed by just three points with under 12 minutes to play, but consistent offense from Edinboro prompted the Fighting Scots to victory. Â

Playing the full 40 minutes,
Regan Atkins led The Rock with 17 points. The true freshman also added five rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Deryn Moye rattled off her third straight game in double figures by scoring 13 points. She also led the squad with four assists and two steals.

Endya Robinson tied a season-high 11 rebounds on the night, also a team-high for SRU. She aided offensively with seven points and came away with two assists, a steal and the team's lone block.

In a game that saw Slippery Rock outrebound the Fighting Scots, 37-35,
Hallie Raabe and
Kaylin Venick both pulled in five boards. Raabe chipped in four points for The Rock while Venick earned two steals.

Slippery Rock held a 14-10 lead after the opening quarter, thanks in part to a 7-0 run created by Atkins, Moye and Robinson. The SRU defense was able to hold Edinboro to an 0-for-4 showing from 3-point range, while Moye began the game with one of her three 3-pointers of the night.

Edinboro carried a narrow 26-24 lead into halftime after outscoring Slippery Rock, 16-10, in the second frame. Despite a continuation of 3-point shooting struggles by going just 1-for-4 in the second quarter, the Fighting Scots converted 7-of-14 from the field to push them ahead.

A high-scoring third quarter saw The Rock faced with a 10-point deficit, despite trailing 41-38 with 1:23 remaining. A pair of Atkins free throws early in the fourth stage maintained a 10-point difference, before Edinboro ended the game by scoring 10 of the final 17 points on the way to the 13-point victory.

SRU concluded the game shooting 17-of-56 (.304) from the floor in response to Edinboro's 28-of-58 (.483) shooting that included a 57.1 percent (16-of-28) second half performance. While Edinboro was stymied from distance by shooting just 2-of-10 (.200), The Rock went 4-of-15 (.267) from the 3-point arc. Â

In the few trips to the foul line that were had, Edinboro knocked down just 2-of-6 (.333) while The Rock took advantage of 9-of-12 (.750) free throws.

The Fighting Scots found their top-scoring weapon in Morgan Gentile, who registered a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Hayley Sims gave 16 points to the Scots, while Gillian Fisher garnered eight points and 10 rebounds.

Slippery Rock will play its final game of the 2023-24 season 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercyhurst University. The Rock last met the Lakers on the court Jan. 31 at Morrow Field House.
