MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team had another strong showing on day two of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Region Championships Sunday.

Leading the way for Slippery Rock was Lois Page, whose title hopes are still alive after winning two matches Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the Championship singles bracket.

The day opened for Page in the Round of 16 as she rallied to defeat Arnal West of West Liberty 3-6, 6-4, 10-8. She followed that victory up by beating Mercyhurst's Kayla Dean 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the quarterfinals to setup Monday's semifinal match against Isabella Tiscornia of Charleston.

Should Page earn a victory over Tiscornia she would then advance to the Championship bracket.s finals to face either Karolin Kirchtag or Katy Graydon, both of which are from Indiana University (Pa.).

No stranger to success at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships, Page previously teamed up with Viola Lugmayr to win the 2019 doubles regional title.

Page is not the only member of the SRU women's tennis team to advance to day three of the regional championships as Georgie Lancaster posted a great performance of her own Sunday in the B singles bracket.

Lancaster made quick work of Carter Nettina of Davis & Elkins in the Round of 16 via a 6-2, 6-0 victory followed by a quarterfinal triumph over Edinboro's Marina Zottele 6-3, 6-1. Gonzalez Sanchez and Martin Lopez both lost their Round of 16 matches in the Championship bracket with Gonzalez Sanchez falling to Graydon 6-1, 6-4 and Lopez dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision to the tournament's top seed Prinkle Singh of Charleston.
