SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The fourth-ranked Millersville University field hockey team defeated Slippery Rock University 6-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game Saturday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

The Marauders improved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in PSAC games with the victory, while The Rock slipped to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in PSAC games with the loss.

Millersville scored its first goal just 67 seconds into the game and would lead 3-0 by the end of the first quarter. The Marauders added one goal in each of the final three periods to pull away for the win.

Slippery Rock had multiple good looks at the cage in the second half, but could not solve Millersville's two goalkeepers that combined for six saves in the game.

The Marauders finished with an 18-8 advantage in total shots and a 13-8 edge in penalty corners.

The Rock got two shots each from
Addy Ross,
Kayla Del Vecchio and
Bailee Christman and one shot each from
Samantha Karmonick and
Jessie Trube.

Grace Burker made four saves in goal.

Millersville had six different goal scorers in the game, led by Bri Harsh and Ashlynn Lennon with one goal and one assist each. Kerstin Koons made five saves to earn the win in goal. Jacinta Bravo Mosso played the final 22:43 and made one save.

Slippery Rock was playing its second top five ranked team in its last three games after also facing No. 2 West Chester last week. The Rock will now shift their focus to hosting Mansfield University Wednesday afternoon in a 4 p.m. PSAC game.
