New/Sortable Box Score Oberlin Invitational Results
 
OBERLIN, Ohio - Select individuals from the Slippery Rock women's tennis team opened their 2018 seasons last weekend at the Oberlin Invitational.
 
Slippery Rock sent six entrants to compete in the three-day event against a variety of local schools from the Division II and Division II.
 
The sophomore duo Olivia Warner and Amy Varckette paced The Rock's singles competitors with matching 3-0 records. Warner was also a perfect 3-0 in doubles matches, teaming with junior Viola Lugmayr (2-0) and senior Allie Welch (1-0). Welch also earned one singles win in during the Invite.
 
Lugmayr, who was 1-1 in singles contests, was also 3-0 in doubles bouts with Warner and freshman Lois Page. In her first collegiate invitational, Page compiled a 1-2 singles record in addition to her overall doubles mark of 2-1.
 
Reigning All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division junior Lacey Cohen was 1-1 in both singles and doubles matches.

Members of the Slippery Rock women's tennis team will continue individual competition at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships Sept 15-17 in Erie, Pennsylvania at the Westwood Racquet Club.
