BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Slippery Rock University women's tennis junior
Lacey Cohen won a pair of matches on day one of the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to advance to Sunday's quarterfinal round.

Cohen began the day by besting East Stroudsburg's Marina Zardet 6-2, 6-3 followed by a victory over teammate
Viola Lugmayr 7-5, 6-2. Cohen will now face Emily Gordon of Mercyhurst on Sunday with the winner advancing to the semifinals.

Prior to her loss to Cohen, Lugmayr out-lasted Seton Hill's Jenna Bailey 6-7, 6-0, 10-8.

Also competing in the singles bracket Saturday for The Rock was freshman
Lois Page, who defeated Bloomsburg's Vitoria Nery 6-4, 6-1 in the first round. However, Page's championship run ended in the second round via a narrow 6-2, 6-7, 10-8 defeat against Katya Minchenkova.

In the doubles bracket, Lugmayr and Page downed Gordon and Athina Tsagkaraki of Mercyhurst 8-5, but couldn't advance out of the second round after a tight 8-5 loss to California's Jo Weisen and Carolin Ganahl.

Cohen's match on Sunday is slated for a 10:45 a.m. start.
