BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University field hockey team lost a narrow 1-0 decision on the road to No. 8 Bloomsburg University on Saturday.
Â
The defeat drops The Rock's record to 5-3 on the year while Bloomsburg improves to 5-1 in 2018 with the win.

Â
SRU recorded five shots following the Huskies' score, four of which were on goal, but goalkeeper Dana Sheply was able to defend each attempt, including a stop on an
Abby McKay shot as time expired, to help BU escape with the win.
Â
The Rock held a 10-8 advantage in overall shots. Both teams registered six shots on goal with Bloomsburg also holding an 8-7 edge in penalty corners.
Â
Sophomore goalkeeper
Maddie Murphy stopped four shots over 70 minutes and senior

Â
Senior
Hannah Downing accounted for two The Rock's six shots on goals with McKay, Wolfe, sophomore
Kayla Ulrich and sophomore
Courtney Page producing one attempt on target each.
Â
