EDINBORO, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team picked up its fourth straight win with a 15-6 victory on the road at Edinboro University Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action from Sox Harrison Stadium.

The Rock (9-3, 5-3 PSAC) scored the first four goals, pushed the lead out to 7-1 early in the second half and were never really threatened by the hosting Fighting Scots (3-9, 0-8 PSAC) on the way to their fourth straight victory and a perfect 3-0 road swing over the last week.

Slippery Rock posted advantages in every statistical category, including a 40-19 advantage in total shots, a 33-13 margin in shots on goal, a 14-9 edge in draw controls and a 33-22 advantage in ground balls. The Rock defense was dominant from the early stages of the game, holding Edinboro to just one goal in the first half and forcing the Fighting Scots into a total of 32 turnovers.

A total of 10 different players recorded points for SRU, including eight that finished with multiple points and six that tallied at least two goals.

Jasey Sanders led the attack with a hat trick in the first half and finished the day with four goals and one assist.
Erin Brown added four points on two goals and two assists and
Bre Vodde,
Tori Penders,
Jess Fullerton and
Jordan Grey all scored two goals.

Tia Torchia added one goal and one assist to go along with a game-high seven ground balls.
ShyAnne Toomer handed out two assists to cap the multiple point scorers and
Francesca Lindelow and
Sami Gentzler rounded out the points with one assist each.

Rachel Shaw led the defense with four caused turnovers and five ground balls and
Emily Bitka picked up her ninth win of the season in goal, recording seven saves. Bitka also grabbed five ground balls to increase her SRU single-season record to 70 through 12 games this season.

Edinboro got a stellar effort from its goalie, Candace McDole, who stopped 18 shots and finished with a .545 save percentage after facing 40 total shots and 33 shots on goal. Offensively, the Fighting Scots were led by Sophie DePalma with two goals and one assist and Lindsey Brikel with a pair of goals.

Slippery Rock returns from its three-game road swing and will host Bloomsburg University Saturday in a PSAC game at 1 p.m. at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
