GAME ONE: Slippery Rock 9 – Jefferson 0 (Five Innings)
The Rock scored nine runs on eight hits while Dawson cruised on the mound en route to a five inning victory over Jefferson.

After a hitless first inning from both teams, Slippery Rock posted three runs in the top of the second inning. McKenzie Garland laced the first hit of the game with one out. Nagle then walked to put two runners on for Megan Brown who slashed an RBI single to give SRU a 1-0 lead. Roesch came to the plate and smacked a two RBI double to left that scored Brown and Nagle.

Nagle got things started in the fourth with a leadoff triple to right center. Following a walk and a stolen base from Brown, Hawley made it a 5-0 lead with a two RBI single.

The Rock would add four more runs in the top of the fifth giving them a 9-0 advantage after a couple of errors and another two-RBI double by Roesch.

Dawson (4-4) continued her dominance on the mound throughout the game not allowing a hit until the fifth inning. She tallied her second complete-game shutout victory of the season surrendering just two hits, one walk and punching out four batters. Dawson now ranks first all-time in SRU softball history in career shutouts (11), tied for second all-time in career wins (29), third all-time in career strikeouts (289) and sixth all-time in innings pitched (376.1).

Katelyn Stys (0-2) took the loss for the Rams allowing five earned runs on six hits and striking out one.

GAME TWO: Slippery Rock 3 – Bloomsburg 0
SRU needed just three runs and received a solid performance from Shumaker in the circle to tally its 11th victory of 2018.

The Rock got one on the board early in the bottom of the first to take a quick 1-0 lead. Nagle singled to start the inning then Brown reached on a fielder's choice sac bunt that the Huskies could not get an out on. With two runners on base, Hawley ripped an RBI single that scored Nagle.

Hawley's three RBI on the day now rank her 13th all-time in SRU softball history in career RBI with 57.

Shumaker worked a couple of solid innings before The Rock scored again in the fifth. The freshman did not face more than five batters in an inning and set the side down in order in the top of the second, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

In the bottom of the fifth, Roesch worked an 11-pitch walk with one out and Hawley singled to put two runners on. Kailey Myers then stroked a two RBI double to make it a 3-0 Rock lead.

The last chance for Bloomsburg to tally a run went away very quickly as Shumaker need just eight pitches in the seventh inning to pick up the win.
