BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Slippery Rock university women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest at West Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday afternoon at Culpepper Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, W.Va. Wesleyan scored two goals within thirty seconds of each other in the 65th minute. Slippery Rock did answer back with one score, but was unable to overcome the deficit.

The Rock created just two chances in the first half of the game.
Brooke Testa fired a shot at WVWC's goalkeeper booted away. Six minutes later,
Skye Kramer and
Tess Keeley each sent shots that went wide.

It was not until 65:03 that either team got on the board. WCWC's Haelly Ramirez sent a pass in to Audrey Barber who fired a shot past SRU keeper
Kara Seebacher.

At 65:31, a yellow card was given to SRU in the box. The Bobcats' Ramirez sent her penalty kick at Seebacher and she saved it. The deflection off the save allowed Ramirez to send another shot on target into the net putting W.Va. Wesleyan ahead, 2-0.

The Rock got on the scoreboard at 69:01 when
Shannon McIntyre handled a corner kick pass from
Tess Keeley putting it between the posts to make it a 2-1 game. The goal was McIntyre's first of her SRU career, while the assist was Keeley's second of the season and 14th of her Rock career tying her for 15th all-time with Jaimi Wilson (2004-07) in career assists.

Slippery Rock's last chance to even the score came at 87:49 when Kramer fired a shot, but it was saved by WVWC goalkeeper Chelsea Hubner.

SRU held advantages in shots on goal (9-4) and corner kicks (5-1). The Rock's record drops to 0-1-1 while, W.Va. Wesleyan improves to 1-0-1.

The Rock's next match is it's first home game of the season as it battles with Indiana (Pa.) 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
