GAME ONE: IUP 12 – SLIPPERY ROCK 11

Slippery Rock led 8-7 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, but Indiana rallied with two runs in their half of the frame to take a 9-8 advantage before adding what turned out to be a crucial three runs in the sixth to extend its new-found lead to 12-8 heading into the seventh.
Undeterred, SRU fired back to leadoff the final inning with a triple from Campagna, who would quickly score on a sacrifice fly out by
Mitchell Wood to cut IUP's lead down to 12-9. Following a groundout, Divosevic singled and Fuscardo doubled to give The Rock runners on second and third with two outs.
As he has done so many times throughout his career, Walters stepped up and delivered a two-run single to trim SRU's margin to just one run. However, Indiana pitcher Christian McClure (3-2) forced Porterfield to pop out following Walters' at-bat for the game's final out as IUP escaped with the victory.

SRU battled back in the sixth when Wood connected on an RBI-double that scored Campagna to cut IUP's lead down to just one run at 9-8. However, The Rock's hopes for a comeback were dashed in the bottom half of the inning when the Crimson Hawks busted the game open with four runs. Slippery Rock would go down in order in the seventh as IUP clinched the doubleheader sweep.
