Slippery Rock extended its season-long winning streak to four games with a 2-1 victory at Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon.

BLOOMSBURG Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team extended its season-long winning streak to four games with a 2-1 victory at Bloomsburg University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.

The win improves The Rock's record to 6-4 overall and 6-2 in PSAC competition. Bloomsburg drops to 4-4-2 overall and 3-4-2 in league matches.

Slippery Rock was led Saturday by the senior trio of Andrea Felix, Dara Demich and Lynn Neef. Felix finished the game with one goal and one assist, Demich scored the game-winning goal while Neef assisted on Felix's score.

Felix's goal was her second of the season. The three-point day moved Felix into sole possession of 11th place in Rock history for points in a career with 61 (22 goals, 17 assists).

Demich broke her season-long scoring drought with what was her first goal of the year. The goal was also the 27th of Demich's career, the fifth most in Slippery Rock history.

Felix also led SRU with three shots on goal; Demich and Madison Johnson each added one shot on target as well.

Goalkeeper Kylie Downs paced The Rock's defensive effort with a career-high 10 saves. Downs is now 5-1 with 24 saves, and four goals allowed in her last six starts.

Felix got The Rock out to a one-goal lead when she took a crossing pass from Neef and fired in a shot from 18 yards out at 20:22. Downs helped send The Rock into halftime up 1-0 by stopping three Bloomsburg shots over the final 25 minutes of the opening half.

Bloomsburg was able to tie the contest up early in the second half when Megan Carroll placed a shot just over Downs' hands in the 47th minute. Allie Barber assisted on the goal.

The Huskies proceeded to register seven more shots on goal over the following 40 minutes after Carroll's goal, but Downs was able to save each attempt to keep the game knotted at 1-1 heading into the closing moments of the game.

Early in the 88th minute Demich received a pass from Felix on the left side of the Bloomsburg zone and went on to send a shot past Bloomsburg goalkeeper Devon Havilandand and into the left side of the net to give SRU a 2-1 lead with 2:49 left in regulation. The Rock's defense did not allow another Bloomsburg shot as SRU cruised to the one-goal road victory.

The game-winning score was the 11th of Demich's career.

For the game, Bloomsburg held edges over The Rock in total shots (17-10), shots on goal (11-5) and corner kicks (5-2).
