SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team led No. 20 Bloomsburg University by as many as seven points midway through the first half, but couldn't hold onto its lead as the Huskies came back to defeat The Rock 80-47 Wednesday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play at Morrow Field House.

Wednesday's game was the sixth and final PSAC crossover game for Slippery Rock of the season. Slippery Rock (6-7, 2-7 PSAC-West) will now play its final 13 games of the year against its divisional opponents.

Senior forward D'Asia Chambers recorded a double-double with team-highs of 16 points and 14 rebounds, which tied for her second highest rebound total of the year and moved her into sixth place in Rock history in career rebounds with 611.

Junior guard Taylor Siggers tallied her third double digit scoring effort in the last four games with 14 points on 7-for-15 shooting to go with six rebounds.

Sophomore guard Audrey Stapleton chipped in eight points off the bench and senior forward Danielle Garroutte added two steals as well. Junior forward Sorriyah Ranger rounded out The Rock's top performers by matching her season-high in blocks with two.

Slippery Rock outrebounded the Huskies 45-39 and has now held the edge in total rebounds over its opponents in nine contests this season.

Chambers connected on a jumper less than a minute into the game to give Slippery Rock a lead over Bloomsburg, which entered the game ranked No. 20 in the nation by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. SRU maintained its advantage for the following seven minutes until the Huskies regained the lead momentarily before Slippery Rock went on an 11-3 run over the next three minutes to take a 24-17 lead with 9:44 remaining in the period.

The Rock's run was sparked by a balanced attack in which four players scored points including Chambers, who gave SRU five points during the stretch.

However, SRU was unable to maintain its momentum as Bloomsburg ended the half by scoring 27 of the half's final 31 points to take a 44-28 lead into the break. Slippery Rock shot just 1-for-9 in the final nine minutes while Bloomsburg connected on 11 of its 19 attempts.

Slippery Rock couldn't overcome the first half deficit as the Huskies continued to extend its lead in the second half on the way to the 80-47 win.

Adreana Sadowski led Bloomsburg (10-2, 8-1 PSAC-East) with 24 points, six blocks and five rebounds. Bloomsburg forced Slippery Rock into a season-high 26 turnovers.
