Stephen Donnelly's career, the Slippery Rock University men's soccer team recorded a 3-0 shutout at West Chester University Saturday afternoon.

Slippery Rock closes the regular season on a two-game winning streak and with an overall record of 11-6 record in addition to a PSAC mark of 8-4. With 19.67 conference points, Slippery Rock enters next week's PSAC Tournament as the league's fifth seed and will play fourth-seeded West Chester in a rematch from Saturday's contest.

West Chester ends the regular season with an overall record of 9-7 and a league mark of 7-4.

The hat trick pushed Donnelly's season goal total up to a team-high 13 while his career total jumps to 29, which is tied for the ninth most in Slippery Rock history. The Dublin, Ireland native has eight goals in The Rock's last five games.

Donnelly connected on his first goal of the game with four minutes remaining in the first half off of an assist from
Peter Boylan to send The Rock into halftime leading 1-0.

Slippery Rock saw its lead grow to 2-0 when Donnelly found the back of the net 20 minutes into the second half before capping off his career day with an insurance goal in the 88
th minute to give The Rock a 3-0 victory.

Supplementing Donnelly's breakout performance was
Mike Ilodigwe with two shots on goal and
Brandon Chiu with one shot on target. Boylan's assist was his first of the year.

Rock goalkeeper
Steven Rerick earned his third shutout of the season after stopping three shots in 90 minutes.

For the game, SRU held advantages over West Chester in both total shots (11-10) and shots on goal (6-3) while the Rams edged Slippery Rock in corner kicks (8-2).

The Slippery Rock – West Chester rematch in the first round of the PSAC Tournament will take place Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
