CLARION, Pa. -- The 44th-ranked Slippery Rock University women's tennis team rolled to its fifth straight win and 13th in 16 matches this season on Wednesday as the Green and White whitewashed hosting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Clarion by a 9-0 score.
The match featured two singles matches that SRU won by 6-0, 6-0 scores and three singles duels that were decided by 6-1, 6-1 scores. The Rock also won a doubles duel by an 8-1 score.
Wednesday's match marked the fifth time this season SRU won by a 9-0 score.
SRU will play its third match in as many days Thursday when it travels to Shippensburg for a 4 p.m. PSAC interdivisional duel.
The Rock then takes a day off before hosting PSAC-West rival Indiana and regional rival Charleston (W. Va.) in 12 noon and 11 a.m. matches Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
