SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The 44th-ranked Slippery Rock University women's tennis rang up its 12th win in 15 matches this season Tuesday with a 9-0 whitewashing of visiting Allegheny College (3-11).
Leading the way for The Rock, who have now won four straight matches, were senior
Laura Handy and sophomore
Dunja Drmac. The duo teamed up for an 8-5 win in the No. 1 doubles match, then recorded 6-1, 6-1 wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches, respectively.
The Rock returns to the courts Tuesday for the second match in the span of three days, a 3:30 p.m. match at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Clarion.
SRU travels to Shippensburg for a 4 p.m. PSAC interdivisional match Wednesday.
The Rock then hosts division rival in an 11 a.m. match Saturday and entertains NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rival Charleston (W. Va.) in a noon match Sunday.
