BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Sophomore Dunja Drmac won three of four matches over the weekend to lead the 31st-ranked Slippery Rock University women's tennis team to a split of two dual matches at Bloomsburg University.

Drmac won both her matches Saturday in a 7-2 Rock win over East Stroudsburg before she was 1-1 in SRU's 5-4 loss to 27th-ranked Bloomsburg.

The Rock won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles duels in its win over East Stroudsburg.

Bloomsburg scored the winning team point in Sunday's match with a three-set win in the No. 4 singles duel. The Rock won four of six singles matches after the hosting Huskies won all three doubles matches.

Drmac was one of three Rock players who recorded wins in both of their singles matches. Senior Laura Handy and Casey Runyan (pictured above) scored back-to-back wins in the No. 1 and No. 5 singles martches, respectively.

The weekend's results gave SRU a 2-1 record this fall in dual matches. The Rock will close out its fall dual-match schedule Oct. 5 with a home match vs. neighboring Grove City College.

The Rock will return to Bloomsburg next weekend (Sept. 26-28) to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's East Regional tournament.

The final competition on The Rock's fall schedule will be the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Individual Championships, which will be hosted Oct. 10-11 by Shippensburg University.
