WEXFORD, Pa. -- Junior
Laura Handy recorded a 6-0, 6-0 decision in the No. 2 singles match Friday night to highlight the 29th-ranked Slippery Rock University women's tennis team's 7-2 win over visiting Mercyhurst College in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action at the Oxford North Tennis Club.
Handy also teamed with sophomore
Chelsea Gibson to win an 8-4 decision in the No. 2 doubles match as The Rock improved its season record to 15-3 and evened its PSAC-West mark at 1-1.
The Rock returns to action Sunday, when it will visit division rival Indiana (Pa.) for a noon match.
