Kayla Blackburn and junior
Laura Handy each recorded wins in their singles matches Thursday to account for the only match wins for the 27th-ranked Slippery Rock University women's tennis team in a 7-2 loss to 16th-ranked Grand Valley State University (Mich.).
Blackburn (pictured above) won a 7-5, 6-0 decision in the No. 1 singles match, while Handy recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 2 singles match.
Thursday's match was the fourth and final one of SRU's spring-break trip to the Sunshine State.
The Rock will take an 9-2 record into their next match, a March 13 home date with Walsh University.
