WEXFORD, Pa. -- Chelsea Gibson celebrated her 20th birthday Sunday with a pair of crucial wins to lead the 29th-ranked Slippery Rock University women's tennis team to a 6-3 victory over visiting NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rival Bloomsburg at the Oxford North Tennis Club.

Lara Rizzi recorded an 8-6 win in the No. 3 doubles match to give SRU a 2-1 edge heading into the singles matches.
Gibson then clinched the match for the Green and White with a gutsy 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 win in the No. 4 singles duel. She trailed 3-0 in the second set before winning 12 of the last 13 games to secure the win.
Rizzi quickly added an insurance point with a 7-6 (8), 6-3 win in the No. 5 singles match.
The wins by Gibson and Rizzi came after the top half of The Rock lineup had dominated their rivals.
Kayla Blackburn and
Laura Handy breezed to an 8-1 win in the No. 1 doubles match before the tandem won 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0 decisions, respectively, in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches.
Bloomsburg won the No, 2 doubles match by an 8-5 score, took the No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-0 and won No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-2.
