PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The24th-ranked Rock rolled to a 5-0 win Friday over Holy Family University in first-round action of the NCAA Division II East Regional tournament at Brown University's Pizzitola Center.
With the win, the third-seeded Rock (21-3) moved into Saturday's 11 a.m. regional final against second-seeded Bryant (24-2).
The winner of that game will earn a berth in the Division II national round of 16 competition next week in Houston, Texas.
SRU will be making its second straight appearance in a regional final; the Green and White lost to hosting Bloomsburg in the round of 32 last year.
The Rock's winning effort Friday was paced by Kayla Blackburn and Jessica Hilborn, each of whom had a hand in two flight wins.
Blackburn won the No. 1 singles match by a 6-2, 6-3 score and teamed with Laura Handy to claim the No. 1 doubles match by an 8-0 score.
Hilborn, meanwhile, won a 6-0, 6-1 decision in the No. 4 singles match and teamed with Samantha Blackburn to win the No. 2 doubles match by an 8-3 score.
