No. 23 Rock takes 8-1 decision over East Stroudsburg University

Monday's win marks the fourth straight for The Rock over spring break

Hilton Head Island, S.C.- The Rock continued their spring break winning streak with an 8-1 win over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division member East Stroudsburg University.
 
The Rock went 3-0 in doubles play and 5-1 in singles action to take the match 8-1. The win moves SRU to 10-1 on the year and 4-0 over spring break.
 
SRU's No. 1 doubles team of Kayla Blackburn and Laura Handy won an 8-2 decision, the No. 2 duo of Samantha Blackburn and Jessica Hilborn won an 8-5 decision and the No. 3 team of Lara Rizzi and Chelsea Gibson completed the sweep with an 8-2 score.

K. Blackburn won her No. 1 singles match winning 6-3, 6-0. Handy won at No. 2 by 6-1, 6-0 scores. Samantha Blackburn has been battling injury the entire trip, Rock Head Coach, Matt Meredith decided to pull her for her No. 3 match taking an injury defeat. Hilborn won in the No. 4 match winning 6-2, 6-2.
Rizzi took the No. 5 singles match 7-5, 6-3 and Gibson finished off the day with a win in the No. 6 singles match by 6-1, 6-1 scores.
 
The Rock's next match is set for Wednesday,March 12, at 8 a.m. when they take on the University of Charleston at the Beach and Tennis Resort.
