Rock falls by 4-1 count to #10 Mansfield

Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Rock dropped a 4-1 decision to 10th-ranked Mansfield Tuesday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Ashley Stoner scored on a penalty shot in the final minute of action to account for The Rock's only goal.

Mansfield outshot the Green and White by a 22-8 margin and forced SRU goalie Lisa Belcastro to record 13 saves in 58 minutes of action. Backup Rock netminder Ashley Winkelspecht did not have a save in the final 12 minutes.

The Rock (0-10 overall, 0-6 PSAC) will look for that elusive first win of the season Saturday when it hosts defending NCAA Division II national champion and No. 2-ranked Bloomsburg at noon on DiSpirito Field.
