Christy goal lifts Rock past Millersville, 1-0

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Nick Christy scored an unassisted goal in the 56th minute of action Saturday afternoon to provide for the only tally of the game as The Rock nipped visiting Millersville, 1-0, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

The win extended The Rock's current unbeaten streak to eight games (six wins, two ties) and improved the Green and White's record to 6-2-2 overall, 5-1-2 in PSAC action.

Millersville saw its record drop to 4-5-1 overall, 3-4-1 in conference competition.

Rock goalie Chris Cook was called upon to make only one save as SRU outshot the Marauders by a 14-8 margin that included a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.

The Rock will open a four-game road trip on Wednesday when it will travel to California (Pa.) for a 2 p.m. game.
