Samantha Badaczewski scored two goals Sunday afternoon to pace The Rock effort in a 3-2 loss to visiting Bellarmine University in non-conference action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
The goals were the first of Badaczewski's collegiate career.
Her first goal came with 15:42 left in the first half and tied the score at 1-1, while her second tally tied the score at 2-2 with 26:56 left to play.
Sunday's game marked the second time this season that SRU lost a narrow decision to Bellarmine. The Knights won a 1-0 overtime decision on penalty shots Sept. 1 on DiSpirito Field.
Bellarmine (5-4) won Sunday's game on a penalty-shot goal by Andrea Hibbuch with 7:345 left to play.
Marie Huth gave Bellarmine a 1-0 lead with 21:26 left in the first half before Jourdan Hibbuch (Andrea's sister) scored with one second left in the first half to put the Knights up 2-1.
Rock goalie Lisa Belcastro was credited with 10 saves.
The Rock will look to end a season-opening seven-game losing skid when it hosts Indiana U. of Pa. in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game at 4 p.m. Wednesday on DiSpirito Field.
