It was all Green and White Saturday afternoon as The Rock Women blanked Mansfield 4-0, in Saturday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. The win improves SRU to 7-1 overall.
Saturday's game pitted The Rock, , ranked fifth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II national poll and first in the NSCAA Northeast Region poll, against Mansfield, tne No. 8 team in the regional poll.
The Green and White's first goal came off a penalty kick at the 20:10 mark. Danielle Cooper drew a penalty in the box enabling Jaimi Wilson to score off of the penalty kick.
It only took The Rock 1:12 to score their next goal, when Danielle Cooper scored off on a header at the 21:22 mark.
Mallory Neubert scored the third goal for SRU off a Cara Kelleher assist at the 26:47 mark, while The Rock's fourth and final goal came off an assist from Melisa Sharek to Meghan McGrath at the 29:00 minute mark.
Mansfield did not have an answer for The Rock's scoring attack as all of SRU's goals came in the first half over a 10 minute span.
Both Rock goaltenders saw action in Saturday's victory as Lauren McManus started the game and came away with three saves, while Sarah Lacey came in at the 55 minute mark to finish out the game and preserve the shut-out; recording two saves on the day.
The Rock clearly dominated the game as they out-shot Mansfield by 20-11 margin.
The Rock hosts defending PSAC-West champion and 2007 preseason favorite Indiana U. of Pa. at 7 p.m. Thursday.
