Jeremy Deighton scored the game winning goal off a Toby Bowser assist to give The Rock a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over West Chester in Saturday afternoon's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.
The win improves The Rock to (5-2-1, 4-1-1 PSAC) while the loss drops West Chester to (5-3, 4-2 PSAC).
The Rock struck first at the 34 minute mark in the first period, when Ed Mocarsky scored off an assist from Nick Christy to give SRU a 1-0 lead in Saturday's action.
The Green and White held a 1-0 lead until The Golden Ram's, Jason Mackel tied the game 17 minutes into the second period, sneaking one past Rock goaltender, Greg Blum, to tie the game 1-1. Blum finished with three saves on the day.
The Rock scored early in overtime to give SRU a 2-1 victory over the Golden Ram's.
The Rock will host Shippensburg on September 17, at 3 p.m.on Bob Dispirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium. Shippensburg will bring a
2-4-1 overall record and a 2-3-1 PSAC record into Saturday's game.
