Hosting Shippensburg outshot The Rock by a 28-1 margin Tuesday afternoon en route to a 7-0 win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.
The loss was the fifth in as many games this fall for The Rock, who are now 0-3 in conference play, and marked the fourth successive contest in which SRU failed to score a goal. SRU is 0-3 in conference play.
Shippensburg, the No. 9 team in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II national poll, is now 3-2 overall, 1-2 in PSAC action.
Ashley Winkelspecht recorded 10 saves and was charged with two goals in a substitute role after starting goalie Lisa Belcastro had three saves and allowed five goals in 19-plus minutes of action.
The Rock will seek that elusive first win when it travels to conference rival Millersville (0-4, 0-3 PSAC) for a battle of winless teams at 9 a.m. Saturday.
