Steve Perri scored on a penalty kick and assisted on another goal Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock to a 3-2 win over visiting Bloomsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
The win was the first of the 2007 season for the Green and White and gives SRU a 1-2-1 overall record heading into Tuesday's 4:30 p.m. non-conference date with Salem International on DiSpirito Field.
The Rock is now 1-1-1 in PSAC action, while Bloomsburg fell to 0-3 with all its results coming in conference competition.
Iain Langstone and Ed Mocarsky each scored a goal for The Rock, while Jeremy Deighton, Jeff Hamley and Mitchell Walters each had an assist.
Rock freshman goalie Greg Blum recorded six saves en route to picking up his first collegiate win.
Bloomsburg outshot The Rock by a 21-16 margin, but SRU had the advantage in shots on goal by a 10-8 count.
Perri's penalty-kick goal in the 31st minute of action gave SRU a 1-0 lead.
Bloomsburg tied the score at 1-1 in the 44th minute and that's the way the scoreboard read at halftime.
The Rock regained the lead in the 74th minute on a goal by Mocarsky, assisted by Hamley and Perri.
Four minutes later, Langstone scored what proved to be the game-winning goal off assists from Deighton and Hamley.
Bloomsburg scored in the 89th minute to close the final margin to one goal.
