Final Stats

Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Rock and California U. of Pa. battled to a scoreless tie in double overtime Wednesday night on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

The outcome gives The Rock an 0-2-1 overall record and an 0-1-1 mark in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.

Wednesday's defensive-oriented game was as evenly played as the final score would indicate. Both goalies, The Rock's Greg Blum and California's Derek Yobbi, finished the game with nine saves; The Rock held a slim 21-20 edge in shot attempts and SRU committed one more foul (20-19) than did the Vulcans.

The Rock goes in search of that elusive first win of the season at 3 p.m. Saturday, when it will host Bloomsburg in a PSAC contest on DiSpirito Field at Thompson Stadium.
