#6 Rock falls to Bloomsburg 1-0

Final Stats

Bloomsburg, Pa. - The sixth-ranked Rock suffered its second loss of the season Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover action, loosing to Bloomsburg 1-0.

Bloomsburg took a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Eileen Alexander at the 11:46 mark. That proved to be enough to give the Huskies the win as The Rock was unable to answer with a goal of its own.

Overall, the game's final statistics showed Bloomsburg to be the aggressor as the Huskies outshot SRU by a 13-7 margin. Rock goalie Lauren McManus was credited with 6 saves while Bloomsburg netminder Brittany Moses recorded four saves on the day to preserve the shutout.

Despite the loss, The Rock (10-2-1 overall, 6-0-1 PSAC-West) remains in good shape in the PSAC West, as they have 19-11 point advantage over Edinboro.

The Rock will look to rebound when they travel to division rival, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, on October 10, for a 4 p.m. start.
