Late goal lifts Lock Haven past Rock, 2-1

Lock Haven, Pa. - Hosting Lock Haven scored a goal in the 81st minute of action Wednesday afternoon to hand The Rock a 2-1 loss in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.

The game-winning goal came just over a minute after The Rock's Jordan Minnis had tied the score with a goal off an assist from Mitchell Walters.

Lock Haven had taken a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 38th minute of action.

Rock goalie Greg Blum was credited with five saves as Lock Haven outshot SRU by a 15-9 margin.

The loss hampers SRU's bid for a third successive trip to the PSAC playoffs.

The Rock (9-7-2 overall, 8-5-2 PSAC) needs a win Saturday at Millersville or West Chester losses Wednesday night at East Stroudsburg and Saturday vs. Bloomsburg in order to earn a postseason berth.

Lock Haven (12-5, 11-4 PSAC) assured itself of a conference playoff berth with its win over SRU.

The Rock travels to Millersville for a 1 p.m. regular-season finale Saturday.
