Blasko, Urbanik pace Rock effort vs. Edinboro

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Jen Blasko had 15 kills and Anastasia Urbanik added 13 Tuesday night to lead The Rock effort in a 3-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division loss to visiting Edinboro in Morrow Field House.

Game scores were 30-27, 30-27, 19-30 and 30-19.

The loss dropped SRU's overall record to 17-12 and its PSAC-West to 1-6 and erased any hope the Green and White had of earning a berth in this year's conference playoffs.

Blasko and Urbanik also recorded 25 digs each. Urbanik had a team-high four blocks, while Blasko had two blocks and two service aces.

Louise Schultz contributed 21 assists, four aces and three blocks to The Rock attack, while Keira Peoples had 10 kills, Anna Bixler 14 assists and Courtney Fajerski a team-best five service aces.

The Rock returns to action Friday, when it will PSAC "crossver weekend" competition at California U. of Pa. SRU will meet East Stroudsburg at 5 p.m. before taking on Shippensburg (10 a.m.) and West Chester (4 p.m.) on Saturday.

SRU then return to Morro Field House to host Lock Haven and Point Park on back-to-back nights next Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 23 and 24).

The Rock visits California U. of Pa. on Oct. 30 before closing out the regular-season schedule with a Nov. 3 "Senior Night" game vs. Indiana U. of Pa.
