Iain Langstone scored two goals Tuesday afternoon to lead The Rock to a 4-1 win over hosting Shippensburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Confeence action.
The win improved The Rock's overall record to 9-4-2 and its PSAC mark to 8-3-2 and enhanced the Green and White's bid for a third successive trip to the conference playoffs.
The Rock is now in second place behind East Stroudsburg, one point ahead of Millersville and two points in front of Lock Haven.
Millersville and Lock Haven meet head-on Wednesday, so The Rock will be in no worse than third place when it hosts fifth-place West Chester in the home finale at 3 p.m. Saturday.
In Tuesday's game, Shippensburg took the early lead with a goal in the 26th minute of play.
Joe Ross, off an assist from Steve Perri, tied the score at 1-1 in the 30th minute before Langstone, assisted by Lucas Feathers, scored the eventual game-winning tally in the 37th minute.
Langstone then added an unassisted goal two minutes into the final half of action before Jeff Hamley, assisted by Toby Bowser and Feathers, chalked up the final tally.
Rock goalie Chris Blum was credited with six assists.
The Rock and Shippensburg both fired off 15 shots in the game, The Rock holding a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal.
