Rock rings up 4-0 mark in Tiffin tournament

Tiffin, Ohio - AThe Rock rang up a perfect 4-0 record this weekend in the Tiffin University tournament to improve its season record to 17-11.

SRU nipped the tournament's host team, then blanked Taylor-Fort Wayne, Union (Ky.) and West Liberty State (W. Va.) by 3-0 scores.

Game scores Friday afternoon vs. Tiffin (coached by former SRU assistant T.J. Shouse) were 30-20, 24-30, 30-18, 27-30, 15-9.

The Rock then blanked Taylor-Fort Wayne by 30-24, 30-18, 30-24 scores Friday night.

Saturday, SRU beat Union by 30-21, 30-26, 30-21 scores and defeated West Liberty State by 30-18, 30-23, 30-26 scores.

Anastasia Urbanik led The Rock in kills with 49 in the four matches. She also had 40 digs, 10 blocks and five service aces.

Jen Blasko added 42 kills, eight aves and 68 digs, while Louise Schultz and Alexa Erossy each had 40 kills.

Schultz also had 62 assists, 15 blocks, 23 digs and seven aces, while Erossy had 38 digs.

Anna Bixler contributed a team-high 70 assists, 42 digs and eight aces.

The Rock's next match is a 7 p.m. Tuesday date with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Edinboro in Morrow Field House.
