Slippery Rock, Pa. -
Danielle Cooper scored two unassisted goals and assisted on the first Rock tally Wednesday afternoon to lead SRU to a 3-1 win over visiting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Edinboro on James W. Egli Soccer Field.
The win was The Rock's fifth in as many outings this fall and extended the Green and White's unbeaten streak to 11 games. SRU is now 3-0 and alone atop the PSAC-West standings.
Edinboro saw its record drop to 2-2 overall, 1-1 in PSAC-West action.
The visitors scored the first goal of the game before Mallory Neubert, off an assist from Cooper, tied the score at 1-1.
Cooper then scored the winning goal and added an insurance tally.
Rock goalie Lauren McManus recorded four saves in the game; the goal by Edinboro was only the second allowed by The Rock's freshmen netminder in five games this fall.
SRU returns to action on Saturday, when it will host PSAC-West rival California U. of Pa. in a 3 p.m. game on Egli Field.
