The Rock worked overtime for the second successive game Monday and, for the second time in three days, left the job site without a paycheck.
East Stroudsburg scored a goal in the sixth minute of overtime Monday afternoon to record a 1-0 victory in a battle of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference leaders on James W. Egli Soccer Field.
Monday's loss came less than 48 hours after The Rock had dropped a 2-1 double-overtime decision to visiting regional rival Bridgeport on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
The Rock will thus look to snap its first two-game losing skid of thee season Friday when it hosts Bloomsburg in a 4 p.m. PSAC game on Egli Field.
With the win Monday, East Stroudsburg regains the top spot in the PSAC standings with a 5-0-2 conference record (6-0-3 overall).
The Rock is now in second place with a 5-2 conference record (5-4 overall).
East Stroudsburg outshot The Rock by a 22-15 margin and had a 7-6 edge in shots on goal.
Rock freshman goalie Brandon McQuillen recorded six saves.
