Clinton, S.C. - Kayla Blackburn's 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 1 singles match accounted for the only Rock point Saturday morning as hosting Presbyterian College handed SRU an 8-1 setback in the opening match of The Rock's spring-break trip to South Carolina.

Blackburn stepped into the No. 1 singles slot in the absence of senior Ashley Michaux, who did not make the trip to South Carolina.

The loss was only the second suffered by The Rock in seven matches during hte 2005-06 season and snapped a three-match win streak for the Green and White.

The Rock returns to action on Sunday when it will take on North Carolina Pembroke in a 10 a.m. match on Hilton Head Island.
