Jessica Schake had team-high totals of 14 points and four assists and grabbed six rebounds Wednesday night in a losing effort as The Rock dropped a 56-48 decision to hosting Edinboro.
The loss was the third straight for The Rock, which saw its overall record fall to 11-12 and its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division mark drop to 3-5.
Amanda Chojnacki added eight points and a team-high rebunds for The Rock, which will host Lock Haven in a 1 p.m. game Saturday in Morrow Field House.
That will be the first of two crucial, back-to-back games for The Rock.
SRU enters Saturday's game tied with Lock Haven (14-7, 3-5) and Clarion (12-11, 3-5) for fourth place in the PSAC-West standings.
After hosting Lock Haven on Saturday, The Rock will entertain Clarion next Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m.
Clarion handed Lock Haven a 69-57 setback Wednesday night.
California, which eked out a 55-52 win over Indiana on Wednesday, remains alone atop the division standings with an 8-0 mark (19-4 overall). Edinboro is in second place at 5-2 (17-5 overall), followed by Indiana at 4-4 (15-8 overall). Shippensburg, which was idle Wednesday night, is in last place in the division at 1-6 (11-11 overall).
The Rock led for most of the first 10 minutes of action Wednesday night before Edinboro put together a 25-10 run to take a 31-23 lead into intermission.
SRU trimmed the margin to four points on two occasions in the second half, but was never able to overcome the aforementioned run by the hosts.
Wednesday's win gave Edinboro its first season series sweep of The Rock since 1996-97.
