Rock downs Walsh, 6-3

Canton, Ohio - Ashley Michaux and Kayla Blackburn recorded singles wins and teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles match to lead The Rock to a 6-3 win over hosting Walsh College on Friday.

The win was the fifth in six matches this season for SRU, which is now idle until March 11, when it will travel to Presbyterian College in North Carolina to start its annual spring-break trip.

Michaux and Blackburn won the No. 1 doubles match by an 8-1 score, then won the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches by identical 8-3 scores.

The Rock's No. 3 doubles team of Sarah Karagianis and Erika McKenna won an 8-3 decision to give SRU a 2-1 lead heading into singles action.

Joining Michaux and Blackburn as singles-match winners were Lara Rizzi, an 8-5 winner in the No. 3 match, and Cristina Rhodes, an 8-3 winner in the No. 6 match.
