Rock rolls over Clarion 74-41 behind Chojnacki's 20 points

Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Rock wasted no time in disposing of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Clarion Wednesday evening, jumping out to an early 13 point lead and cruising the rest of the game.

The Rock scored first on a Kristen Bonner jumper a minute and a half into action. The Rock would never relinquish the lead.

The Rock sizzled the nets in the first half, shooting 53.1% from the field. A lay-up by Amanda Chojnacki with 00:11 seconds remaining gave The Rock a 40-26 halftime advantage.

The second half began with a jumper by Angela Greaser and saw The Rock go on a 12-0 run, capped by a Chojancki lay-up with 13:12 remaning. The Golden Eagles would not get within 24 points the remainder of the game.

The Rock shot 51.7% from the field for the game, compared to a 27.8% field goal percentage by Clarion.

Amanda Chojnacki led The Rock's efforts with a game-high 20 points. She also hauled in a team-high eight boards.

Amber McFeely netted nine points and dished out seven assists, while Amanda Kaufman added nine points and four rebounds.

The Rock is now the winner of two games in a row, both crucial contests over PSAC-West opponents. With the win, The Rock's hopes of earning a berth in the PSAC tournament remain alive.

The Rock will travel to Shippensburg on Saturday for it's next contest. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
