Final Stats

Edinboro, Pa. - Meghan McGrath's goal in the 79th minute of action Tuesday lifted The Rock to a 2-1 win over hosting Edinboro (5-6, 2-5) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.

In the process, she helped lift The Rock (8-4-1, 6-2 PSAC-W) out of the doldrums of a five-game winless/four-game scoreless skid and into the PSAC playoffs for the fourth successive season.

The Rock won the PSAC title for the second time in three seasons last year.

McGrath's game-winning goal Tuesday was set up by an assist from Jaimi Wilson and occurred 12 minutes after Mallory Neubert had given SRU a 1-0 lead on a penalty-kick goal.

The win wasn't secure, though, until Rock goalie Jen McCormick had recorded the last of her seven saves.

Edinboro cut The Rock in half with a goal four minutes after Neubert had chalked up the eventual game-winning tally.

The Rock returns to the pitch on Saturday, when it will travel to California U. of Pa. for a 3 p.m. PSAC-West contest.
