Box Score

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Edinboro raced out to an eight point lead in the opening minutes of action and never looked back, en route to a 68-61 victory over The Rock Wednesday evening.

Jessica Schake scored back to back buckets in the first minute of play to tie the score, but that would be as close as The Rock would get the rest of the game.

The visiting Fighting Scots built as much as a 12 point lead during the second half of action, but The Rock whittled away the double-digit lead. A pair of free throws by Amanda Kaufman with 2:17 remaining in the game brought The Rock within five, however Edinboro would hold on for the win.

The Rock's efforts were led by Amanda Chojnacki who scored a team-high 10 points and added three rebounds.

Kristen Bonner canned three treys, winding up with nine points and Jessica Schake finished with seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.

With the loss, The Rock snapped its two game win streak, dropping its overall record to 8-9 and 0-2 in PSAC-West action. Edinboro improves to 13-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Rock looks to pick up its first conference win of the season when it travels to Lock Haven this Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off. The Rock next home action will come on January 29 against Shippensburg. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
