Rock blanks Pitt-Johnstown, 2-0

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Kraig Bruder and Nick Christy scored a goal each Wednesday night to lead The Rock to a 2-0 win over visiting Pitt-Johnstown in non-conference on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

The win evened The Rock's overall record at 5-5-1.

Bruder scored what proved to be the game-winning goal, off an assist from Dave Keller, after 3:20 had elapsed in the game.

Christy added the second goal, off an assist from Mike Monte,in the 38th minute of action.

Rock goalie Chris Cook recorded three saves in the process of chalking up his third shutout of the season.

The Rock outshot Pitt-Johnstown by a 17-2 margin the first half and a 23-14 margin in the game.

SRU, currently tied for third place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference standings with a 4-3-1 mark, travels to conference rival East Stroudsburg for a noon game on Sunday.

That will the first of eight straight conference games The Rock will play to close out its regular-season schedule.
