The Slippery Rock men's soccer team battled its way to a 3-3 tie with homestanding PSAC rival Kutztown Friday afternoon.
The Rock wasted no time in getting on the board, scoring on a goal by Nick Christy. Justin Hollm then scored an unassisted goal, putting The Rock up 2-0. However Kutztown would net three unanswered goals and take the lead.
Christy found the net again in the 70th minute, knotting the game 3-3 and forcing overtime. Both teams battled through two overtime periods before settling for the tie.
Ed Mocarsky and Dave Keller recorded assists on the afternoon, while goalkeeper Chris Cook came away with five saves in net.
The Rock will take to the road this weekend and face off against New Haven, CT on Sunday. Game time is scheduled for noon.
