Rock drops 4-0 decision to Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg, Pa - The Rock dropped a 4-0 decision Wednesday afternoon at two-time defending NCAA Division II national champion and second-ranked Bloomsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.

The loss dropped The Rock's season record to 0-3. All three games have been played against PSAC rivals.

Bloomsburg (6-0, 3-0) outshot SRU by a 33-2 margin en route to its 17th successive victory. The Huskies have not lost since 2004.

Rock goalie Tara Bailey recorded 17 saves.

Wednesday's game was the third straight The Rock played against a team ranked in the top 10 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association national poll.

The Rock, which previously lost to No. 1 Shippensburg (6-1 on Sept. 4) and No. 6 Indiana U. of Pa. (6-0 on Sept. 10), will host No. 10 Bellarmine at 4 p.m. Friday on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

SRU then entertains PSAC rival Mansfield at 1 p.m. Saturday on DiSpirito Field at Thompson Stadium.
