Four-run fourth too much for Rock to handle in 4-3 loss to Bluefield State

Savannah, Ga. - Courtney Conron (0-2) pitched a complete game while giving up just three earned runs and sriking out seven, but it wasn't enough as The Rock dropped a 4-3 decision to Bluefield State in Savannah Monday.

The Rock defeated Bluefield State 3-1 in extra innings a day earlier.

SRU falls to 1-2 with the loss.

All of Bluefield State's runs came in a four-run fourth inning.SRU scored one run in the first, fourth and seventh innings.

Alicia Dixon led The Rock offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Carrie Casoni was 1-for-2 with an RBI double and Stacey Rhoades contributed two hits in three at-bats to The Rock cause.

The Rock outhit Bluefield State by an 8-7 margin.
