The Rock closed out the fall portion of its 2005-06 schedule with a victory Tuesday afternoon as it rolled past hosting Grove City, 7-2.
The win gives SRU a 3-1 record heading into the spring campaign.
Ashley Michaux and Kayla Blackburn again paced The Rock's winning effort as they combined efforts for an 8-1 win in the No. 1 doubles match, then went their separate ways to record victories in singles play.
Michaux won a 6-0, 6-4 decision at No. 1 singles, while Blackburn chalked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
Kelli Parnell and Sarah Karagianis also picked up a pair of wins for SRU. They teamed up to win an 8-4 decision at No. 2 doubles before recording three-set wins in singles action.
Parnell took the No. 3 singles match by 6-2, 6-7 (7-5), 6-3 scores, while Karagianis won at No. 5 singles by scores of 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
Lara Rizzi's three-set win at No. 4 singles -- 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8-4) -- closed out The Rock's points.
